About Me

Artisans information:
My name is Marilyn and my passion is teaching, creating, exploring and experimenting with any material I can find. The process of making mistakes while creating and learning to perfect my craft has driven my passion to create over the years. I have been teaching students how to create and use their art and graphic designs to develop entrepreneurial skills for the past three decades.

Tallahassee Tradition:

Generations of my family were born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Many of us grew up touring the Old Capitol and trying to locate our homes and other amazing landmarks from the twenty-two story Capitol building. I developed The Tallahassee Collection to recognize and promote the rich history of my proud home in the Florida Capitol. My products are made by me in my home town, Tallahassee, Florida. You can find Tallahassee Florida souvenirs throughout this website. I am excited about joining in the Tallahassee - Leon County Bicentennial (1824-2024) celebration!

Locally Sourced materials:

Some of the materials used to create my items are locally sourced. I recently acquired camphor wood from a company in the local area. This company takes local damaged and troublesome trees which would normally end up in the landfill and mills them.
